Oregon State 41, Notre Dame 9
(Jan. 1, 2001) Sixth-ranked Oregon State buried the ghost of
its woeful
football past and rattled the spirit of Knute Rockne himself Monday.
Two years removed from their 28th consecutive losing season, an NCAA
record, the Beavers capped their best season in school history with a
41-9 victory against No. 10 Notre Dame in the 30th Fiesta Bowl. The
loss was the second worst in the Irish's storied 23-game bowl history.
